A New Chapter of Healing at Sole Hope

For more than a decade and a half, Sole Hope has restored dignity through physical healing in Uganda. Now our team is expanding that mission by launching a Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Clinic in Jinja, Uganda. This new clinic will bring holistic healing for body, mind, and spirit.

Why a Mental Health Clinic in Jinja Is Needed

In communities across eastern Uganda, mental health challenges often hide behind physical pain. Many people battling jiggers also face depression, anxiety, or addiction. Alcoholism, in particular, both contributes to and results from jigger infestation. When people feel hopeless and forgotten, it affects their whole being.

By addressing mental health alongside medical care, Sole Hope can help families find complete healing. The new clinic will meet an urgent need for accessible and compassionate care in a region where very few services exist.

Introducing the Sole Hope Mental Health and Addiction Recovery Clinic

Located at the Hope Center in Jinja, the clinic will provide counseling, therapy, and addiction recovery services rooted in faith, compassion, and community.

Construction begins soon, thanks to a generous partner who has fully funded the building itself. The next phase will equip and staff the clinic so it can open to patients in early 2026. Once operational, it will serve thousands of people each year, including children and adults recovering from jiggers, human trafficking, and other trauma.

Over time, the clinic will become self-sustaining and serve both Sole Hope families and the wider community. Our goal is to break the cycle of physical and emotional pain and replace it with hope, restoration, and freedom.

How the Clinic Will Help Families Heal

  • Counseling and psychotherapy for children, parents, and caregivers

  • Addiction recovery and relapse prevention programs

  • Community outreach that reduces stigma and raises awareness about mental health

  • Faith-based group support that fosters belonging and purpose

  • Training for local health workers so more communities can access quality care

By integrating these services into Sole Hope’s established medical programs, the clinic will multiply impact and improve long-term outcomes for those we serve.

A Step Toward Brighter Days

This new clinic represents a major milestone in Sole Hope’s vision to equip the vulnerable to walk in freedom from disease and exploitation. It is a step toward holistic healing that honors both body and soul.

If this story speaks to you, we would love to invite you into the conversation. Whether through prayer, partnership, or sharing this vision with others, your support helps create brighter days for children and families in Uganda.
