Helping children in Uganda walk in freedom.
Sole Hope exists to help children and families in Uganda walk in freedom from jiggers and other preventable foot conditions through medical care, education, protective shoes, and whole person support.
We believe every child is created with dignity. No child should miss school, live in pain, or feel forgotten because of a treatable condition in their feet.
Our mission.
The mission of Sole Hope is simple and focused:
Sole Hope exists to offer hope, healing, and freedom from painful foot conditions for children and families in Uganda through medical care, education, community, and jobs.
We work in communities where children are most at risk from jiggers and other neglected tropical diseases. Many have been mocked, called cursed, or held back from school because of the condition of their feet.
Our teams respond with consistent, practical love: school and community clinics, the Hope Center for severe cases, prevention teaching, shoemaking jobs, and growing access to mental health support.
Everything we do is led by local Ugandan staff who know the culture, speak the language, and care deeply for the children we serve.
What we hope to see.
We imagine a Uganda where:
- No child lives in constant pain from jiggers.
- Families have the knowledge they need to prevent future outbreaks.
- Children walk into school with confidence instead of shame.
- Local jobs sustain the solutions that protect children long term.
This is the future your support helps build, one child and one community at a time.
Children are living with a preventable health crisis.
In parts of Uganda, children live with jiggers and other infections that burrow into their feet and hands. Pain becomes normal. School is missed. Play stops. Many are called curses. Some are hidden away.
The treatment is simple, but access is not. Families often live far from care. Clinics are crowded. Emotional and mental health support is hard to find.
It does not have to stay this way. The problem is serious, and it is solvable.
Preventable pain
Jiggers and related infections are treatable, yet many children wait months or years for care.
Stigma and shame
Children are often blamed for their condition, which leads to isolation and deep emotional wounds.
Limited support
Families rarely have access to the emotional and mental health support they need to recover from long term pain.
A Uganda where every child walks in freedom.
Our vision is simple. Healthy feet. Healthy families. Healthy futures. We see communities where children no longer suffer in silence, and parents have the care and tools they need to protect them.
We see clinics in more districts. Skilled Ugandan staff washing feet, treating wounds, and speaking words of worth. Children leave clinics with clean bandages, protective shoes, and renewed confidence.
We see stronger pathways to care. When a case is severe, hospitals and partners step in quickly. When a family needs food or shelter during treatment, they are not left alone.
We see a fully staffed mental health and recovery clinic where children, teens, and adults receive counseling and support. Shame begins to loosen its grip. Stories of addiction, trauma, and long term pain start to change.
We see Ugandan artisans earning steady income by crafting protective shoes. Every pair tells a story of work, dignity, and care.
The Good News lived out through good works.
At Sole Hope, we believe the Good News of Jesus is meant to be lived, not only spoken. Jesus washed feet. He welcomed the least, the lost, and the overlooked. He brought healing to bodies and hearts.
That is the posture we want to carry in Uganda. We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus to children who have been hurting for a long time, and to families who need to know they are seen and loved.
We are not registered as a religious organization and we do not distribute tracts. Our care is offered freely to anyone who comes. But our faith shapes how we see every person and how we make decisions.
We try to live out the heart of Romans 12:16, choosing humility, staying close to those the world overlooks, and honoring the image of God in every child, parent, and neighbor we meet.
How faith shows up in our work.
Prayer guides our decisions and our days.
People come before projects, numbers, and plans.
Love, not fear or shame, is the reason we step into hard places.
We trust that God is already at work in Uganda and we get to join Him.
We serve every person who comes to us, regardless of belief or background.
You help turn health into hope.
When you give to Sole Hope, you do more than fund a project. You help a real child walk without pain. You help a parent breathe easier. You help a community see that a different future is possible.
