Healing changes everything. You can help make brighter days possible for families in Uganda.

Your gift opens the Brighter Days Mental Health and Recovery Clinic at the Hope Center. This is where children, teens, and families find healing for the body, mind, and spirit.

Help raise 300,000 to open and run the clinic for three years. Raised: 0 / 300,000

Why this matters

For years, you have helped children walk again. You have helped mothers breathe again. You have helped families find their footing when jiggers turned their lives upside down.

But as we walked through villages this fall, something became painfully clear. Jiggers were not the only thing hurting families. Many were carrying wounds no one could see.

A teenage boy who had lost hope. A mother trying to survive addiction and raise her children alone. A child who could not sleep because the nights felt too heavy.

What would you do if your hardest battles lived inside your own heart and there was nowhere to turn?

On the ground at the Hope Center

Our team sees the same story over and over again. Children arrive with feet full of jiggers. We treat the pain, clean the wounds, and give them safe shelter. Their bodies begin to heal.

But many still carry fear, shame, addiction, and trauma that reach far beyond the physical. Without deeper care, the hurt lingers and the risk of re infestation stays high.

The reality in Eastern Uganda

Mental health needs are rising

Visits to the mental health unit at Jinja's main hospital have more than doubled, from 400 to 900 patients each month, with most under 25.

Jiggers and mental health are linked

At Sole Hope, nearly half of the patients we treat for jiggers also face serious mental health challenges. Pain, trauma, addiction, and isolation increase the chances of re infestation.

The gap in care is real

Uganda has only a small number of mental health specialists for the entire country. In Jinja, families often have no affordable, specialized place to go for help.

This is not a new mission. It is the next step.

Sole Hope was founded to free children and families from jiggers and the suffering that follows. As we listened, we learned that real freedom also means caring for the mind and heart.

The Brighter Days Clinic strengthens everything you have already built. It protects families from the conditions that drive jigger infestations and the trauma that follows.

What your gift makes possible

Peace for a mother

Trauma support and someone to listen.

Hope for a son

A path out of addiction and into stability.

A new beginning for a child

Healing for the body, mind, and heart.

The Brighter Days Clinic

The Brighter Days Mental Health and Recovery Clinic will sit on the Hope Center campus, right where families already receive jigger care, medical treatment, education, and support.

Families will find:

  • Counseling for children and teens
  • Addiction recovery support
  • Family follow up care
  • Group therapy spaces
  • Community education and prevention
  • Crisis support when life feels overwhelming

This fills a critical gap. Jinja has almost no specialized mental health or addiction recovery care for youth. Brighter Days gives families a place to turn right when they need it.

The cost of doing nothing

  • Children drop out of school.
  • Addiction grows in families and communities.
  • Jigger re infestation rates rise.
  • Abuse, neglect, and exploitation increase.
  • Hope grows dim for an entire generation.

Your gift helps change this story and creates brighter days for families in Uganda.

Why give now

Construction for the Brighter Days Clinic is underway. The land is prepared and a generous partner has funded the building itself.

Your gift brings the clinic to life, staffing counselors and nurses, equipping therapy rooms, and preparing to welcome the first families.

Time matters. Families are already asking when the clinic will open. Your generosity helps us say soon.

Your impact so far

For more than a decade, supporters like you have helped Sole Hope:

  • Treat tens of thousands of people for jiggers.
  • Extract well over a million jiggers from children and adults.
  • Provide hundreds of thousands of pairs of protective shoes.
  • Walk with families on the journey to dignity and restored hope.

The Brighter Days Clinic continues this work and helps protect that progress for years to come.

Give with confidence

Sole Hope has served in Uganda for more than a decade with local staff, local leadership, and strong partnerships with government and community leaders.

Every dollar is handled with care and used where it is needed most. We are committed to transparency, accountability, and long term impact.

Help open the Brighter Days Clinic

A child in Uganda should not have to face their pain alone. A mother should not have to fight addiction without help. A young man should not lose hope before his life has begun.

You can give them a safe place to heal. You can help bring brighter days to families in Uganda.
